‘Hookah….Harmless fun or Harmful Sin?’

hookah

Its evil has spread amongst us like wild fire.

From the West to the East, it is a slow poison that has permeated the societies, even among the Muslims.

In fact, it crept upon us so subtly that no one really thinks its bad. And it has blinded individuals who partake in this new fad to believe that it isn’t harmful.

What is this evil, this menace, this new fad that I am talking about?

It is the evil of smoking Hookah…..also called sheesha, nargeela, argila, ghalyan, as well as hubbly-bubbly.

Nowadays, hookah bars and cafes have popped up everywhere, fueled by the growing popularity of hookah smoking among teens and young adults.

It is a normal, everyday thing in some parts of the Middle East, when father and son, brother and uncle, all go out to smoke hookah while the ladies stay home. No hayaa, no respect, no sense of shame or guilt.

Hookah…evil ???

But I thought it was harmless…. .one might say.

Harmless ?

Lets see how “harmless” hookah is. Let the facts speak for themselves.

What science says about hookah?

Mayo Clinic research says: “Although many believe that the water in the hookah filters out all the “bad stuff” in the tobacco smoke, this isn’t true.

According to a recent World Health Organization (WHO) advisory, a typical one-hour session of hookah smoking exposes the user to 100 to 200 times the volume of smoke inhaled from a single cigarette.

Even after passing through the water, the tobacco smoke produced still contains high levels of toxic compounds, including carbon monoxide, heavy metals and cancer-causing chemicals (carcinogens) .

Hookah smoking also delivers significant levels of nicotine (about 70 times more )— the very addictive substance in tobacco.” (Pulmonologist Mayo Clinic Edward Rosenow, M.D., )

“One single session (45-minutes) of Hookah smoking will result in the smoker breathing in 100 times more smoke than regular smoking.” (World Health Organization)

“Contrary to what many beginning users may think, hookah tobacco use carries many of the same risks as cigarette smoking, including being linked to lung cancer and other lung diseases.” (John L. Kirkwood, President and CEO of the American Lung Association) .

“Links have been found between water-pipe (hookah) usage andoral, lung and bladder cancer, in addition to heart disease and clogged arteries,” (American Lung Association) .

“The water moisture induced by the hookah makes the smoke less irritating and may give a false sense of security and reduce concerns about true health effects.” (Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics)

“Water pipes (hookah) smokers were five times more likely than non-smokers to show signs of gum disease. People who smoked water pipes had five times the risk of lung cancer as non-smokers. ” (Journal of Periodontology)

The World Health Organization (WHO) regional office in Cairo estimates that 17 percent of

Tuberculosis cases in the eastern Mediterranean are attributable to the smoking of water pipes.

Na’uzubillah! Cancer of the mouth, lung and bladder…tuberculosis, heart disease, lung disease, gum disease….exposure to toxic compounds like heavy metals, nicotine, tar, arsenic….you name it.

Is there any more evidence one needs to know that smoking hookah is bad for you? !!!

What our Shariah says about Hookah?

1. It’s harmful to yourself:

All these harmful materials collect in the person’s body over time, resulting in a gradual killing of the organs and tissues. These diseases may not appear all at once, but the one who smokes is most likely to suffer from some of them, and his suffering increases as he grows older.

And anything that cause harm to one’s body or to others is haram in Islam.

Allah says: “Do not kill yourself. Allah is Merciful unto you.” (Surat al-Nisa :29)

29. Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la ta/kuloo amwalakum baynakum bialbatili illa an takoona tijaratan AAan taradin minkum wala taqtuloo anfusakum inna Allaha kana bikum raheeman

29. O ye who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves in vanities: But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual good-will: Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily God hath been to you Most Merciful!

“…make not your own hands contribute to your destruction. ..” (Surah al-Baqarah:195)

195. Waanfiqoo fee sabeeli Allahi wala tulqoo bi-aydeekum ila alttahlukati waahsinoo inna Allaha yuhibbu almuhsineena

195. And spend of your substance in the cause of God, and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do good; for God loveth those who do good.

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) said: “There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm.” (Ahmed, Ibn Majah-saheeh by Albaani)

2. It is a poison:

Don’t you see that it is a kind of slow poison with which a person kills himself?

The statistics show that over 3 million people worldwide die from smoking-related causes each year.

“Whomsoever consumes poison, thereby killing himself, then he will be consuming his poison forever in the fire of Hell and he will abide in it permanently and eternally.” (Bukhaari, Muslim)

It is suicide:

Knowing fully well the harmful effects of hookah, if someone still smokes it, it is suicide.

“Whoever kills himself with something in this world will be punished with it on the Day of Resurrection.” (Bukhaari, Muslim)

It is a waste of money and extravagance:

Extravagance in Islam means spending on something haram.

The money that one spends on hookah is therefore an extravagance.

“… and do not be extravagant wasters. Those who are extravagant are kinsmen of Satan.” (Surat al-Israil 17:26-27)

26. Waati tha alqurba haqqahu waalmiskeena waibna alssabeeli wala tubaththir tabtheeran

26. And render to the kindred their due rights, as (also) to those in want, and to the wayfarer: But squander not (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift.

27. Inna almubaththireena kanoo ikhwana alshshayateeni wakana alshshaytanu lirabbihi kafooran

27. Verily spendthrifts are brothers of the Evil Ones; and the Evil One is to his Lord (himself) ungrateful.

You will have to answer to Allaah for this:

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) said:

Your body and life have a right over you:

Allah Subhaanahu wa Taala has given you this life and this body as an Amanah to you. You are supposed to take care of it and protect it from harm and haram.

What will you say to Allah when He asks you about it?

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam)said: “Your body has a right on you.”

27. WaAllahu yureedu an yatooba AAalaykum wayureedu allatheena yattabiAAoona alshshahawati an tameeloo maylan AAatheeman

27. God doth wish to Turn to you, but the wish of those who follow their lusts is that ye should turn away (from Him),- far, far away.

“Allaah wants to let you into His Mercy, whereas those who follow the desires want you to drift far away (from the right path).” (Surah an-Nisaa:27)

Don’t smoke it and don’t let people smoke it:

It is not only haram for someone to smoke hookah himself, rather it is equally haram to offer it to people, to sell it, buy it, or promote it in any way.

“Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.” (Surah Maidah:2)

Do not even sit with those who smoke, even if you don’t smoke yourself:

And if you keep company with those who do smoke, even if you yourself don’t, or even sit with the people who are smoking it, then you are still counted amongst them.

Allah warns us;
“And it has already been revealed to you in the Book (this Quran) that when you hear the Verses of Allah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that; (but if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be one of them. Surely, Allah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell” [al-Nisaa 4:140]

We need to realize that smoking is haram, whether it is hookah, cigarettes or anything else. It is bad, not just for ones health, but also for other worldly matters and much worse for the Akhirah.

It is our duty to educate ourselves, our kids, family, friends and communities about this evil, and teach everyone to stay away from it and to help those addicted to it to get help.

May Allah guide us and enable us to stay on the right path and do only those acts that are pleasing to Him. Ameen.

Please can I have one more chance ?

There you are standing before Allah Taa’la, the whole of mankind in anticipation. Hell to your left and Paradise your right. From the first man until the last, everybody is present. What is to be of them on this Day?

Not a word is spoken. Everybody is naked but unusually today, no one actually cares about anybody else. There’s only one question running through everyone’s mind, what will be their eternal abode?

The Qur’an states:

“And they will be set before your Lord in (lines as) rows, (and Allah will say): “Now indeed you have come to us as We created you first. Nay, but you thought that We had appointed no meeting for you (with us).” (Surah 18, Verse 48)

You stand there very frightened. As a Muslim, you hardly prayed your Salaah. In Ramadhan, you didn’t feel like keeping fasts. Zakaat was never on your mind. Even though you had enough money for Hajj, a trip to the Caribbean always seemed much more appealing.

You look down and wish that this silence continues forever and ever. Then suddenly, very unexpectedly, your name is called. Abdullah! Son of Adam, your heart begins to beat faster and faster. You are now trembling. Your turn has now come.

It is time for the truth; did you live in this world as a true believer? Did you believe in the oneness of Allah and follow the teachings of our Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wassallam? If so, then there is no doubt that Paradise is your eternal abode, but for those who ascribed partners with Allah and neglected the teachings of our Holy Prophet , then, Hell is their only dwelling. There will be no injustice on this day.

Slowly, tears begin to role down your face. Even before you receive the book of deeds, you know you have no chance. You had so many chances to revive yourself in the world, but you continued to commit sins, one after another. Many signs were brought before you clearly proving the oneness of Allah, but you rejected each sign, one after another. How is Allah going to give you another chance? Chances were given in the world. You continued sinning but were not punished; now you must face punishment for those unpunished sins committed. Then, the book (of deeds) is given to you in your left hand. You may have passed all the exams in school, but you now have failed the most important one, Life.

The Qur’an states:

“And We have fastened every mans deeds to his neck, and on the Day of Resurrection, We shall bring out for him a book which he will find wide open.” “(It will be said to him): “Read your book.” (Surah 17, Verses 13,14)

Allah Taa’la states:

“And the Book (ones record) will be placed (in the right hand for a believer in the Oneness of Allah, and in the left hand for a disbeliever in the oneness of Allah), and you will see the ‘Mujrimun (sinners), fearful of that which is (recorded) therein. They will say: Woe to us! What sort of Book is this that leaves neither a small thing nor a big thing, but has recorded it with numbers!” And they will find all that they did, placed before them, and Your Lord treats no one with injustice.” (Surah 18, Verse 49)

You bend down on your knees and beg for mercy. “Please Allah! Only one more chance, only one more chance! You open the Book which had been placed in your left hand. You are shaking as you open the book knowing full well that it has recorded every single deed and every sin. You know full well that no injustice has been done by Allah.

You open the book and every detail is inside. As soon as your eyes glance upon the first sin on the page you have opened, you begin to cry. You close the book and start to regret. But this is no time to regret.

Your chance has now gone.

You shout once more, “ALLAH! CAN I HAVE ONE MORE CHANCE!!!??”

The Qur’an states regarding the misguided:

When those who were followed will disown those who were following and they will see the punishment and all ties with them will be cut

And those people who were following will say if only there was a returning for us we would disown them just as they disowned us in this way Allah will show them their actions as a source of remorse against themselves and they will not be coming out of the fire of hell. (Surah 2, Verse 166-167)

The heat of the fire of Hell is burning in your mind. How will you be punished? How long will you be punished for? Every time you wanted to do good in the world, Shaytaan took you away from the straight path and you were deceived very easily. You can blame no one but yourself.

Allah Taa’la states:

And Satan will say when the matter has been decided: “Verily, Allah promised you a promise of Truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, so you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me.” (Surah 14, Verse 22)

How deceiving Shaytaan was? How powerful were his whispers and how weak was your Imaan?

Whatever he whispered into your ears, you immediately followed him. You disobeyed Allah and followed what you thought was the right path, but you were truly on the wrong path, treading upon the path that would lead you to inevitable destruction, the path that will lead you into Hell fire on this day. You thought arrogantly and lived as though you would live in the world forever. You ignored the fact that everybody to enter the world would eventually die one day and be judged. Allah Taa’la states in the Qur’an:

“Everyone is going to taste death.” (Surah 21, Verse 33)

Only seconds remain. The Hell fire is waiting. Your time has now come, but all you think of is that one more chance. With that one more chance, you would go back in the world and never commit another sin again. Chances, many chances were only given in the world but now it’s too late. You are thrown into the scorching fire.

My dear respected readers, do you want to end up like brother Abdullah? Does his life sound familiar compared to yours? Is obeying Allah, Praying Salaah and pleasing Him not in our daily schedule? Here in this life is our only chance and time to change. Remember, no chance will be given once you pass away. Repenting will be of no avail on that day. The Prophet mentions in one Hadith:

“The one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin.” (Hasan – Reported by Abu ‘Ubaidah ibn ‘Abdullaah and collected by Ibn Majah. Authenticated by Shaikh al-Albaanee.)

There is an extremely wretched place for those who disobey Allah and the Prophet . However, those who are pious and are on the Sirat-e-Mustaqeem (right path) will be the ones that will be triumphant on that day and these are the people that will earn a great reward. Allah Taa’la states in the Qur’an:

“Verily, the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons) who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden), and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained) will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers (Paradise).” (Surah 54, Verse 54)

From all the hard work that you do in this world dear readers, Allah Taa’la will never let that work go to waste. Instead, gardens and rivers will be awaiting that person and the book of deeds will be placed in the believer’s right hand. As for those who do not believe, Allah Taa’la says:

“The Day they will be dragged in the Fire on their faces (it will be said to them): “Taste you the touch of Hell.” (Surah 54, Verse 48)

May Allah Taa’la give us all the ability to avoid or discard the path of the Shaytaan and follow the right path shown by our The Prophet (SalallAllaahu ‘alaihi wa salam). Ameen

Before Its too late – Do it today :: Special Islamic Reminder

Many people ignore precious opportunities when they come on their way. One of the reasons is Procastination. For a common man  it is ” Mental Lazinness”

When Allah declares, “And any one who has done an atom’s weight of good shall see it…”, Surah Zalzala verse 7, He is asking us not to ignore or let go even small opportunities of doing good. It can  be a towering thing in terms of impact or results. Yet we ignore big  opportunities that come in our way.”We will do it later”, is the most common excuse we have.

Islam emphasises to hurry in good things and some of them are :

1. Repenting for Sins :

A scenario is sketched in the Qur’an about the plight of the delayers…, surah Mo’minoon: When death approaches one of them he cries out: “O my Lord! let me return back so that I can do some good in what I m leaving behind…”, and the answer he will receive is: “Surely NO!

2. Delayed marriages :

I have written umpteen notes on it. In Surah Nahl verse 72.. Allah calls wives and children as blessings and ends the verse with a question to the readers…, “Will you agree with the false (theories and  ideologies) and reject the Blessings of Allah?

3. Delayed earnings :

Refer to the same  verse. It also speaks about Allah appointing  Halal and Tayyab rizq for us… and we delay earning till we reach thirties !!! Earn early if you can and see what a joy it brings when you spend your own money for your parents and nee dies..

4. Delayed Charity :

And spend of the substances which we have bestowed on you, before Death approaches any of you and lest you say : My Lord why did you not give me little respite for a little while? I should have given in charity…“.

Surah Tahrim ends with  a reminder: “Allah will not grant respite to any soul when the appointed time has come…”

Many Muslims who are generously fast in harboring enthusiastic ambitions about doing  good to the society fail in taking  even the first step.

Many ideas remain in the garage of our minds because we did not bring them out, thinking of doing it later. Let us not award our own selves certificates of laziness and allow our ideas to get burred along with us.

5. Delay in  amending broken relations :

Ego stops us from being blessed by amending or rather initiating to amend broken ties with our Muslim brothers and sisters. Then we go to the dead body of the deceased and say: “Please  forgive whatever heard and spoken !

Is the dead person in the position to forgive you or embrace you or talk to you or reply you ?

Surah Room says NO !

Mark my words ! Your days are numbered!

Tonight you may die and it may be late!

And then you  can never change your fate…!!!

Dua of Musa [AS] and the Answer from Allah [SWT]

Before Musa [AS] was given prophet hood, he fled from the Pharoah to the city of Madyan – he had accidentally killed a person and the Pharaoh wanted to kill Musa [AS] in revenge. Upon arrival at Madyan, he found a well. At the well he saw a group of men watering their flocks, and two women were standing behind waiting for their turn since they could not jostle with the men for position.

One of Musa’s [AS] greatest and most admirable qualities was that he would always stand up for justice, whether it benefited him, hurt him or neither of the two. So, seeing this injustice he took the flock of the women and watered them on their behalf amongst the men. Keep in mind, Musa [AS] had no benefit from this and he was exhausted after his sudden journey away from Egypt. After he was finished, Musa [AS] went to a shade made this beautiful dua,

My Lord! I am truly in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!’

[Surah Qasas:24]

Do you know what happened next?

Musa [AS] was asked by one of the two sisters to come meet their old father who wanted to reward Musa [AS] for watering the flock of his daughters…by marrying him to one of his daughters! Do you see how incredibly Allah [SWT] answered the dua of Musa [AS]?  He asked Allah [SWT] that he is in desperate need of any khair to come from Allah [SWT], and Allah [SWT] gave him a house, a family and a job all in one go!

What I find amazing is the personality of Musa [AS] even before prophethood. Often, when we have nothing to gain or nothing to lose, we never make a stand for the right thing. But subhan Allah, he stood up for justice and Allah rewarded him almost immediately for that.

Another thing that I find amazing is the trust that Musa [AS] had in Allah [SWT]. When he embarked on an unplanned, potentially dangerous journey away from Egypt to Madyan he said, <<قَالَ عَسَى رَبِّى أَن يَهْدِيَنِى سَوَآءَ السَّبِيلِ>> “It may be that my Lord guides me to the right way”. And this was before prophethood!

How true is the statement of Allah [SWT] that whoever trusts Him, Allah will satisfy him/her and be fully sufficient for him/her [Surah Talaq:3]!

JazakAllah khair for reading,

Your Temporary Visa Will Expire Soon ! [Special Islamic Reminders]

The nature of this world’s creation is such that it is temporary; therefore, it can only offer a temporary visa to anyone who enters and resides within it. For this reason an appointment is binding upon every single individual who has had a soul breathed into him or her while s/he was in his or her mother’s womb. This appointment is the meeting of death with al-Malakul-Mowt (the Angel of Death) which will inevitably come to pass upon every single individual that has come into this world because the one who has come into it… must one day inevitably depart from it.

Today, depending on the sort of life we are living in this world, we are either looking forward to this meeting or we are denying it by making ourselves believe that it won’t really come to pass, or we are fearfully dreading it as we know it is approaching but we have not prepared well enough for it. Whatever the case, each one of us, as the minutes continue to pass us by, is unavoidably drawing closer to that final stage in our lives. We can either unsuccessfully try to run away from it or work for the day when it will come, just as many of us in the past had to sit exams, regardless of whether or not we were ready for them or wanted to undertake them, the fact of the matter was that we still had to sit them. In the same way, regardless of the fact whether we are poor or rich, healthy or sick, old or young, leader or led…none of us can escape that particular year, that certain hour, that specific minute and that unrelenting second when our souls will be extracted by this Angel of our Lord, the Most High. Allah (Almighty) has said,

“Wheresoever you may be, death will overtake you even if you are in a fortress built up strong and high.” (An-Nisaa, 4: 78)

Unlike other meetings, we cannot fit this appointment into our busy schedules as we wish, we cannot choose to cancel it, we cannot postpone it, nor can we combine or fit it into our other busy tasks. In fact, it will come upon us all of a suddenand this is when we will have to resign our very selves to our fate. Actions will then cease and the recompense for our deeds, whether good or bad, will begin. The feeling of the egoistic “free-will”, so easily expressed in the statement “it’s my life” will then cease to hold any real worth as our bodies will be left lifeless… without a life. The fact of the matter is, we came into this world involuntarily and we will depart from it involuntarily and the time is now, before it’s too late, to work for Islaam by giving up our souls, hearts and very lives for it.

Without a doubt, the Prophet’s Companions were ever ready to sacrifice and they forfeited all that was dear to them in this life for the spread of the Divine Message of Islaam. Thus, the Prophet (peace be upon him) guaranteed many of them unconditional entrance into Paradise… yet they still feared. They feared that they did not have enough provisions for the hereafter – out of their sincere humility and modesty. They were not boastfully proud of the many feats they successfully achieved in the way of Allah; they did not allow their minds to falsely claim and believe that somehow they owned Paradise, for they knew that it belongs to Allah, and Allah alone, and if He wills, He will allow them to enter into it; if He wills He has no one to stop Him from entering any of His creation into the Hellfire. This is why it is not surprising that the great Companion, Salmaan al-Faarsi (may Allah be pleased with him) was found weeping just before his death. When he was asked as to why this was so, he said:

“The Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded us to have sufficient provisions for the hereafter”.1

For those who have read the biography of Salmaan al-Faarsi, each page from his biography testifies to the difficult and painful terrain he traversed for the truth. He sacrificed his comforts, loved ones and homeland and jumped into a journey full of difficulties, foreign people and unknown lands. Yet, he still cried over whether he had sufficient provisions for the hereafter. Then how much more should we be crying over our states, our bankruptcy, with regards to the scale of our good deeds.

Similarly, the following is narrated on the authority of Ibn Shamasa Mahri regarding another Companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: “We went to Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) and he was about to die. He wept for a long time and turned his face towards the wall. His son said: ‘Didn’t the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) give you tidings of this?’ He (the narrator) said: He turned his face (towards the audience) and said:

‘The best thing which we can count upon is the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him). Verily I have passed through three phases.

(The first one) in which I found myself averse to none else more than I was averse to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and there was no other desire stronger in me than the one that I should overpower him and kill him. Had I died in this state, I would have been definitely one of the denizens of Fire.

When Allah instilled the love of Islaam in my heart, I came to the Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: “Stretch out your right hand so that I may pledge my allegiance to you.” He stretched out his right hand (and then) I withdrew my hand. He (the Prophet, peace be upon him) said: “What has happened to you, O ‘Amr?” I replied: “I intend to lay down some condition.” He asked: “What condition do you intend to put forward?” I said: “I should be granted pardon.” He (the Prophet, may peace be upon him) observed:

“Are you not aware of the fact that Islaam wipes out all the previous (misdeeds)? Verily migration wipes out all the previous (misdeeds), and verily the pilgrimage wipes out all the previous (misdeeds).”

And then there was no one dearer to me than the Messenger of Allah and none was more sublime in my eyes than he. Never could I pluck up the courage to catch a full glimpse of his face due to its splendor. So if I am asked to describe his features, I cannot do that for I have not eyed him fully. Had I died in this state then I would have had every reason to hope that I would be among the dwellers of Paradise. Then we were responsible for certain things (in the light of which) I am unable to know what is in store for me. When I die, let neither female mourner nor fire accompany me. When you bury me, fill my grave well with earth, then stand around it for the time within which a camel is slaughtered and its meat is distributed so that I may enjoy your intimacy and (in your company) ascertain what answer I can give to the messengers (angels) of Allah.’”2

Many of us have also heard of the great Imaam ash-Shaafi’ee, one of the leading Jurists of his time and one of the Imams of the four popular juristic schools of thought. When he was on his deathbed al-Mazini (rahimahullah) visited him. Al-Mazini narrates what happened next: “I asked him, ‘How are you?’ He replied,

”I am leaving this world, leaving my brothers, meeting my sins, drinking the cup of death, and returning to the Almighty. But I do not know whether to Hell or Paradise my spirit will be admitted”.”3

This was a person who spent his life seeking knowledge, practicing and implementing it, and in turn teaching it to the masses. This is a person whose teachings and works spread when he was alive and even until now are taught, cited and referred to…yet he still worried whether he would be admitted in the Paradise of Delights.

In truth, now is the time to take heed from the words of Hamid al-Qasyrasi (rahimahullah) when he said:

“Though we know death is certain, we have not prepared ourselves for it. Though we know paradise is definite, we have not worked for it. Though we know the hell fire is sure, we have not feared it. So why are you delighted? What are you waiting for? Death is the first visitor from the Almighty bringing good or evil tidings… get closer to your Lord.”4

In fact, the righteous before were mentally prepared for the hereafter as they constantly worked towards it. For example, Habib Ibn Muhammad’s (rahimahullah) wife said that Habib used to tell me,

“If I die today get so-and-so to bathe me”.5

She was asked if he had seen a dream of his death. She replied that he used to tell her likewise every day.
