Allah misguide people?  Lies Exposed !

Christians try their best to make issue of certain Quranic verses and argue that Allah Himself misguides people. They use many different verses. Today lets have wholesome look into the issue and unveil the slanders against the Noble Faith of Islam.

There are three set or types of verses that are used by the polemics.

  1. Verses on the lines that Allah guides and misguides whom He wills.
  2. Verses that use the Arabic word ‘ghayy’ or ‘ghawa’.
  3. Verses that say Allah has sealed the hearts of so and so people.

In the following lines we consider these types of verses one by one. But before that we need to understand the word ‘Hadaya’ i.e. guidance as Quran speaks of it.

Meaning of ‘Guidance’ (Hadaya):

The Holy Quran speaks of certain Guidance on certain degrees. The first degree of guidance is universal and is granted to all beings, living and otherwise:

“He said: ‘Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance.'” (Quran 20:50)

This means Allah has given every creation a particular function and then guided it to correspond to its role in the scheme of things. This guidance is granted to everything and everyone, men, jinns, animals, plants and all the other creation.

The second degree is only for men and the jinn i.e. creation that will be help accountable for its deeds. This guidance is always there and one is free to work for it or reject it.

“By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right; Truly he succeeds that purifies it, And he fails that corrupts it!”

And third degree of guidance is for those who heed to the message of Truth and grants them more help in their pursuit of righteousness.

“But to those who receive Guidance, He increases the (light of) Guidance, and bestows on them their Piety and Restraint (from evil).” (Quran 47:17)

So when Allah says that He does not guide people it only refers to the third degree of guidance and this He does only because they do not show the yearning for what is the prerequisite for it.

Meaning of ‘Allah guides whom He Wills…’:

There are some verses in the Holy Quran which say that Allah guides whom He wills and leaves straying who He wills e.g. Surah 14 Ayah 4 where it reads:

‘…Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom.’ (Quran 14:4)

Some people especially Christian polemics argue that Allah Himself misguides people and does not give them free-will and therefore He would be unjust in punishing them. This is utterly wrong interpretation!

We have been arguing for long that no Quranic verse should be taken in isolation from the rest of the Quran and the Ahadith.

Man has the choice:

Other passages of the Quran refute such an interpretation. Quran infact maintains that Allah has made the Truth and Falsehood clear and now man has the choice to accept either of them.

“By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right; Truly he succeeds that purifies it, And he fails that corrupts it!” (Quran 91:7-10)

“Say, ‘The truth is from your Lord’: Let him who will believe, and let him who will, reject (it): for the wrong-doers We have prepared a Fire whose (smoke and flames), like the walls and roof of a tent, will hem them in:” (Quran 18:29)

Those whom Allah guide:

Now we see who does Allah guide and whom He leaves straying and at the same time Allah also clarifies who what is for whom.

“…He guideth to Himself those who turn to Him in penitence,” (Quran 13:27)

“And those who strive in Our (cause),- We will certainly guide them to our Paths: For verily Allah is with those who do right.” (Quran 29:69)

“Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).”(Quran 42:13)

Those whom He misguides:

And similarly He plainly tells us;

“…He causes not to stray, except those who forsake (the path),” (Quran 2:26)

“…but Allah will leave, to stray, those who do wrong: Allah doeth what He willeth.” (Quran 14:27)

How does Allah misguide?

Now is the question as to how Allah misguides? This is plainly told in the Quran.

“If anyone contends with the Messenger even after guidance has been plainly conveyed to him, and follows a path other than that becoming to men of Faith, We shall leave him in the path he has chosen, and land him in Hell,- what an evil refuge!” (Quran 4:115)

So Allah misguides the evil doers and those who reject the guidance brought by the Messenger by letting him follow the path they choose.

Through His signs He makes things clear and those who will and show passion to follow the Truth, He guides them further and but those who resort to evil, He lets them follow the path they choose, so He wouldn’t be unjust in punishing such.

Meaning of the verse ‘If Allah leads you astray (yughwiyakum) …’:

Some quote Quran 11:34 which speaks of Prophet Noah saying to his rebellious people;

“Of no profit will be my counsel to you, much as I desire to give you (good) counsel, if it be that Allah willeth to leave you astray (yughwiyakum): He is your Lord! and to Him will ye return!” (Quran 11:34)

We have to see that here Prophet Noah is speaking to the people when they have crossed all limits and even challenged to bring the torment that he used to warned them of. So here Allah’s act of misleading is just as explained earlier i.e. He will leave them on the path they have chosen by stubbornly rejecting the Truth. And this may even be about the punishment, the torment that Prophet Noah knew was due for these people because the same word is used in the meanings of punishment and destruction as well. In Quran 19:59 we read:

“But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts soon, then, will they face Destruction (ghayya),” (Quran 19:59)

Some use Quran 7:16 and 15:39:

“He said: “Because thou hast thrown me out of the way (aghwaytanee), lo! I will lie in wait for them on thy straight way:” (7:16)

“(Iblis) said: ‘O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong (aghwaytanee), I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,-‘” (15:39)

But interestingly one can see that these are only the words of Satan who is just seeking excuses for his transgression by slandering that Almighty Allah misled him. Only the Satanic souls turn to these verses for proving their point!

Meaning of the saying that ‘Allah seals the hearts..’:

Some people argue that when Allah Himself says that He puts seal on the heart of disbelievers then why are they to be blamed for their acts. Such arguments come only because of the basic misunderstanding of the whole issue.

Allah seals the hearts of only those who stubbornly reject the message or simply as explained above, Allah seals the hearts of those who reject the second degree of guidance which is universal and only needs one own will to be attained. So we see that whenever Allah says something on these lines in the Quran it’s always about the stern rejecters of Truth e.g. Quran 2:7, 4:168 & 16:106-109. All such passages talk about those who reject the Truth and do no show the will to follow the Right Path.

Conclusion :

The gist of the matter is that Allah grants guidance to all by making the Truth and Falsehood clear through His signs within our own selves and the phenomenon around and through the Holy Prophets and the scriptures and everyone is free to follow it. One who hearkens to the message and shows yearning Allah guides him further but one who rejects the Truth Allah lets him follow the way he likes (Quran 4:115) and withholds the further degrees of guidance from him, seals the hearts of such and lets him astray.

NOW LETS SEE WHAT  BIBLE SAYS :

Christian missionaries keep saying such things about Quran and malign Islam but they ‘forget’ for the same applies to their Book of Authority, Bible, as well.

God hardened the heart of Pharaoh according to the Bible:

At least at six places Bible tells that Gods hardened the heart of Pharaoh and he against the Will of the God did not let the people of Israel go.

“And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.” (Exodus 4:21)

Same thing is repeated in Exodus 7:3, 10:1, 10:20 & 10:27.

See how God hardens the heart of the greatest transgressor. Those who speak against Quran, what they have to say about this?

God didn’t give Israel the heart to perceive and eyes to see…:

Here are more interesting things for the Christians who malign Islam.

“Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.” (Deuteronomy 29:4)

“He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.” (John 12:40)

‘(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.’ (Romans 11:8)

God in the Bible misleads the Prophets even:

There are many who refer to Quran 7:16 and 15:30 wherein Satan is reported as slandering Almighty Allah to have mislead him but in the Bible even the Prophets, the chosen one of the God say that they are mislead by Him.

“O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants’ sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.” (Isaiah 63:17)

“And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.”(Ezekial 14:9)

What about this? Any one to Answer ?

Remember Christ (PBUH) said: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

ALLAH — The Moon GOD ????????

From Christian Ph.D. Robert Morey

Quran proves – “Allah” is NOT a ‘moon god’:

“And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not bow down (prostrate) to the sun nor to the moon, but only bow down (prostrate) to “Allah” Who created them, if you (really) worship Him.”
[Noble Quran 41:37]

The Christian acquaintance who sent me a copy of Morey’s booklet also sent me five questions related to this subject. I will attempt to answer them below:

Question 1:
What is the significance of the crescent moon in Islam?

Answer:
The Quran answers this question before you asked it. Read this verse:

“They ask you about the new moons. Say: These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for the pilgrimage.” [Noble Quran 2:189]

Question 2:
Why does Islam follow a lunar calendar?

Answer: In both the Bible and the Quran religious festivals are regulated by the lunar calendar. Jews and Muslims have kept to these regulations which they believe to be from God. Why does Christianity follow a solar calendar?

Question 3:
Why is the feast of Ramadan marked by the appearance of the crescent moon?

Answer: I think you mean the fast of Ramadan. God commanded Muslims in the Quran to fast from dawn to sunset during the month called Ramadan (see Quran 2:185, 187). The beginning and end of the month is determined by the crescent (2:189) based on the instruction of God’s Messenger, on whom be peace.

Why this method and not another is not for us to say but for God and His Messenger to prescribe. However, I find it an efficient method. It is a universally applicable method, and it allows for Ramadan to move through all the seasons. This allows believers to have the pleasure of worshipping God by fasting in all the various seasons: one year in the summer, some years later in the winter.

Question 4:
Why does the Quran place the Sabians on the same level with Jews and Christians when scholars have clearly proven that the Sabians were involved in the moon cult?

Answer: I am not aware that the Quran has placed the Sabians on the same level with Jews and Christians. Perhaps you have in mind the following verse:

“Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians and Sabians, whoever believes in “Allah” and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.”

[Noble Quran 2:62; also 5:69]

This verse, however, does not place the Sabians on the same level as the Jews and Christians except in a particular context. The verse speaks of four distinct communities, and offers all four the opportunity to fear not nor grieve if only they would believe in “Allah” and the Last Day and do right. The four communities are:

the Believers (i.e., the Muslims)
the Jews
the Christians
the Sabians

While they are all offered the same opportunity for improvement, nothing, is said in this verse about the validity of the existing faiths of these four communities. Otherwise the Jews and Christians who are criticized in the Quran for their deviations will not be placed on the same level with the believers. The matter becomes clear when you realize that believers here does not mean saved persons but those who ostensibly belong to the community of Muslims. They, as well as the other three groups, must do the following to be saved: believe in “Allah”, believe in the Last Day, and do right. Doing right, according to the Quran, includes following every teaching of Muhammad.

Question 5:

Did the Meccans worship the true God since they recognized “Allah”? Was “Allah” one of the gods of the Ka’bah?

And if so, where did the Meccans derive the recognition and the name of “Allah” from?

Answer: First, “Allah” was not one of the 360 idols which were in the Ka’bah, although Morey has claimed this without evidence. When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) entered Makkah victorious he went into the Ka’bah and broke the idols therein.

Second, the word “Allah” has been used all along for the name of “God” in the Arabic Bible for Jews and Christians alike. The proof is easy to verify; simple go to any hotel or motel on the earth and look in the drawer next to the bed and take out the complimentary Bible, placed there by the Giddeons and then look on page 5 or 6 where they list the examples of translations they have made into other languages. The second example given is for Arabic speakers. The verse is from the Gospel of John, chapter 3, verse 16. Everyone knows this one; “For God so loved the world…” and the word in Arabic for “God” is “Allah.” Then if you have a Bible in Arabic, look on page one in Genesis, and you will find the word “Allah” 17 times.

Next, the word for “God” to the Arabs, ever since the time of Abraham (peace be upon him) has been “Allah” and He is to them, the Lord of the Ka’bah (the black box in the center of the Holy Sanctuary in Makkah). He was the unseen God whom they would call upon when in distress. Yes, they worshipped the true God but their worship was not purely for Him. They also worshipped other gods thinking that they would act as intermediaries between them and the true God Allah.

The Arabs know of Allah because Abraham visited Makkah and together with his son Ishmael laid the foundation of the Ka’bah. The descendants of Ishmael retained some of the worship rites and beliefs from Abraham. This included their knowledge of the true God Allah.

Elsewhere we have shown conclusively that the true god, “El” of the Bible is the same as “Allah” of the Quran.

Exposing Fake Myth : Muslim women are forced in marriage?

There is a halal arranged marriage and a haram one. It is OK to arrange marriages by suggestion and recommendation as long as both parties are agreeable. The other arranged marriage is when parents choose the future spouse and the couple concerned is forced or have no choice in the matter.  One of the conditions of a valid marriage is consent of the couple.

Marriage by definition is a voluntary union of two people.

Islam has honoured woman is by giving her the right to choose her husband. Her parents have no right to force her to marry someone she dislikes. The Muslim woman knows this right, but she does not reject the advice and guidance of her parents when a potential suitor comes along, because they have her best interests at heart, and they have more experience of life and people. At the same time, she does not forego this right because of her father’s wishes that may make him force his daughter into a marriage with someone she dislikes.

“A girl came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and informed him that her father had married her to her cousin against her wishes, where upon the Prophet allowed her to exercise her choice. She then said, ‘I am reconciled to what my father did but I wanted to make it known to women that fathers have no right to say in this matter”. [Narrated by Imam Bukhari See Fath al Bari, 9/194, Kitab al-nikah, bab ikrah al-bint ‘ala al-zawaj; Ibn Majah, 1/602, Kitab al-nikah, bab man zawwaja ibnatahu wa hiya karihah; al-Mabsut 5/2.]

There are many other texts that support the couple in this sensitive issue, another same report quoted by Imam Bukhari from al-Khansa’ bint Khidam:

“My father married me to his nephew, and I did not like this match, so I complained to the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him). He said to me: `Accept what your father has arranged.’ I said, `I do not wish to accept what my father has arranged.’ He said, `Then this marriage is invalid, go and marry whomever you wish.’ I said, `I have accepted what my father has arranged, but I wanted women to know that fathers have no right in their daughter’s matters (i.e. they have no right to force a marriage on them”

At first, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) told al-Khansa’ to obey her father, and this is as it should be, because the concern of fathers for their daughters’ well-being is well-known. But when he realized that her father wanted to force her into a marriage she did not want, he gave her the freedom to choose, and saved her from the oppression of a father who wanted to force her into an unwanted marriage.
Islam does not want to impose an unbearable burden man or woman by forcing them to marry someone whom they dislike, because it wants marriages to be successful, based on compatibility between the partners; there should be common ground between them in terms of physical looks, attitudes, habits, inclinations and aspirations.

A warning from the Scholars against the invalidity of forced marriages within Islaam.

“Do not prevent them from marrying their husbands when they agree between themselves in a lawful manner.” [Noble Quran 2:232]

1. Question: Is it permissible for a father to compel his daughter into a marriage with someone she does not desire?
Answer: It is not permissible for the father or someone besides him to compel the one who is under his guardianship to marry someone she does not desire to marry. Rather, it is necessary to seek her consent and permission due to the saying of the Messenger (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam):

The virgin is not to be married until her consent has been sought. They said: O Messenger of Allaah! What is her consent? He replied: Her silence. And in another wording: And regarding the virgin, her father seeks her consent and her consent is her silence.

Therefore it is obligatory upon the father when she reaches the age of nine or greater that he asks for her consent. It is likewise for her guardians, they do not marry her without her consent. This is obligatory upon all of them. Whoever marries his daughter without permission/consent then the marriage is not correct because one of the conditions of the marriage is the consent and pleasure of both parties. So if he marries her without her being pleased with it and compels her with strong threats or even beating, the marriage is not valid…

It is required from the prospective husband, when he knows that she does not desire him for marriage, that he does not pursue the matter even if her father facilitates this for him (give him permission). It is obligatory for him to fear Allaah and not to come to the woman who does not want him for marriage… It is obligatory for him to beware of what Allaah has made unlawful upon him and this is because the Messenger (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) ordered the girls consent to be sought (first).

Shaikh Bin Baaz in Fataawal-Mar’ah Vol. 2. p.50

2. Question: I have a sister and my father married her to someone without seeking her opinion and without her being pleased with it. She is twenty-one years of age and he made a false testimony for the marriage contract (saying) that the girl agrees to the marriage… So what is the ruling regarding this marriage contract…?

Answer: …However the correct saying in this matter is that it is not lawful for the father or any one else to compel the girl into marriage with someone she does not desire even if he is suitable, because the Messenger (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said:

Do not marry the virgin until her permission has been sought. And this is general – no one is exempted from it, not (even) her guardians. It is reported in Saheeh Muslim: The virgin, her father is to seek her consent... Shaikh Ibn Uthaimeen in Fataawal-Mar’ah Vol. 1. p.47

Another Fatwa from “Al-Masa’il ul-Mardiniyyah” Translated by Abu `Abdullah Muhammad al-Jibali

May a father force his virgin daughter who attained puberty to marry? Two well-known opinions in this regard are reported from Ahmad: That he may compel her. This is also the opinion of Malik, ash-Shafi`i, and others.

That he may not. This is also the opinion of Abu Hanifah and others, and is the correct one.

People have differed as to the reason permitting the compulsion: whether it is virginity, the daughter being under-aged, or a combination of both. The closest opinion to the truth is her being under-aged, whereas no one can compel a grown-up virgin in marriage. Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“A non-virgin woman may not be married without her command, and a virgin may not be married without her permission; and enough permission for her is to remain silent (because of her natural shyness).” [Al-Bukhari, Muslim, and others]

Thus the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), prohibits forcing a virgin in marriage without her permission, whether it be her father or someone else. Furthermore, Ayshah said that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) “In the case of a young girl whose parents marry her, should her permission be sought or not?” He replied, “Yes, she must give her permission.” She then said, “But a virgin will be shy, O Allah’s Messenger.” He answered:

“Her silence is [considered as] her permission.” [Al-Bukhari, Muslim, and others]

This applies to the father as well as others. Furthermore, Islam does not give the father the right to use any of her wealth without her permission, how then could he be allowed to decide, without her permission, how her body (which is more important than her wealth) is to be used, specially when she disagrees to that and is mature to decide for herself?

Also, there is evidence and consensus in Islam to restrict an underage person’s free control of his wealth or person. However, to make a virginity a reason for the restriction contradicts the Islamic basis.

As for the difference between the non-virgin and virgin in the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it is not a differentiation between compulsion and non-compulsion; the difference between the two cases is that (a) the former gives her instructions for the marriage whereas the latter gives permission, and that (b) the virgin’s silence counts as a permission. The reason for this is that a virgin would be shy to discuss the matter of marriage, so she is not proposed to directly; rather, her walee (guardian) is approached, he takes her permission, and then she gives him the permission not the command to marry her.

And as for a non-virgin, she would not have the shyness of virginity anymore; thus she can discuss the matter of her marriage, she can be proposed to, and she gives the command to her wali to perform the marriage, and he must obey her.

Thus the wali is command-executor in the case of the non-virgin, and is permission-seeker in the case of the virgin. This is what the Prophet’s words indicate. As for compelling her to marry despite her loathing to do so, this would contradict the fundamentals and reason. Allah did not permit a wali to force her to sell or rent her property without her permission. Neither did He permit him to force her to eat or drink or wear that which she does not wish. How would He then oblige her to accompany and copulate with a person whose company she hates – at the time when Allah has sent between the two spouses love and mercy? If such company happens despite her hatred and repulsion, where is the love and mercy?

More Ahadiths proving that It is Prohibited to Marry woman without her will

Narrated AbuHurayrah: “The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: An orphan virgin girl should be consulted about herself; if she says nothing that indicates her permission, but if she refuses, the authority of the guardian cannot be exercised against her will. (Translation of Sunan Abu-Dawud, Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Book 11, Number 2088)”

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: ”The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Consult women about (the marriage of) their daughters. (Translation of Sunan Abu-Dawud, Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Book 11, Number 2090)”

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: ”A virgin came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and mentioned that her father had married her against her will, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) allowed her to exercise her choice. (Translation of Sunan Abu-Dawud, Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Book 11, Number 2091)”

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: ”The Prophet (peace be uponhim) said: A guardian has no concern with a woman previously married and has no husband, and an orphan girl (i.e. virgin) must be consulted, her silence being her acceptance. (Translation of Sunan Abu-Dawud, Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Book 11, Number 2095)”

There is no such thing as Islamic science – for science is the most universal of human activities. But the means to facilitating scientific advances have always been dictated by culture, political will and economic wealth.

What is only now becoming clear (to many in the west) is that during the dark ages of medieval Europe, incredible scientific advances were made in the Muslim world.

Geniuses in Baghdad, Cairo, Damascus and Cordoba took on the scholarly works of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Persia, Greece, India and China, developing what we would call “modern” science. New disciplines emerged – algebra, trigonometry and chemistry as well as major advances in medicine, astronomy, engineering and agriculture.

Arabic texts replaced Greek as the fonts of wisdom, helping to shape the scientific revolution of the Renaissance. What the medieval scientists of the Muslim world articulated so brilliantly is that science is universal, the common language of the human race.

The 1001 Inventions exhibition at London’s Science Museum tells some of the stories of this forgotten age.

Here are my top six exhibits …

1 The elephant clock (below)

This centrepiece of the exhibition is a three-metre high replica of an early 13th-century water clock and one of the engineering marvels of the medieval world. It was built by al-Jazari, and gives physical form to the concept of multiculturalism. It features an Indian elephant, Chinese dragons, a Greek water mechanism, an Egyptian phoenix, and wooden robots in traditional Arabian attire. The timing mechanism is based on a water-filled bucket hidden inside the elephant.

2 The camera obscura

The greatest scientist of the medieval world was a 10th century Arab by the name of Ibn al-Haytham. Among his many contributions to optics was the first correct explanation of how vision works. He used the Chinese invention of the camera obscura (or pinhole camera) to show how light travels in straight lines from the object to form an inverted image on the retina.

3 Al-Idrisi’s world map

This three-metre reproduction of the famous 12th-century map by the Andalusian cartographer, Al-Idrisi (1100-1166), was produced in Sicily and is regarded as the most elaborate and complete description of the world made in medieval times. It was used extensively by travellers for several centuries and contained detailed descriptions of the Christian north as well as the Islamic world, Africa and the Far East.

4 The Banu Musa brothers’ “ingenious devices”

These three brothers were celebrated mathematicians and engineers in ninth-century Baghdad. Their Book of Ingenious Devices, published in 850, was a large illustrated work on mechanical devices that included automata, puzzles and magic tricks as well as what we would today refer to as “executive toys”.

5 Al-Zahrawi’s surgical instruments

This array of weird and wonderful devices shows the sort of instruments being used by the 10th-century surgeon al-Zahrawi, who practised in Cordoba. His work was hugely influential in Europe and many of his instruments are still in use today. Among his best-known inventions were the syringe, the forceps, the surgical hook and needle, the bone saw and the lithotomy scalpel.

6 Ibn Firnas’ flying contraption (above)

Abbas Ibn Firnas was a legendary ninth-century inventor and the Da Vinci of the Islamic world. He is honoured on Arabic postage stamps and has a crater on the moon named after him. He made his famous attempt at controlled flight when, aged 65, he built a rudimentary hang glider and launched himself from the side of a mountain. Some accounts claim he remained airborne for several minutes before landing badly and hurting his back.

Jim Al-Khalili is an author and broadcaster. He is professor of physics and of the public engagement in science at the University of Surrey.

Google presents Sci-Tech Award to 1001 Inventions

[SPECIAL NOTE :

Assalam Alaykum Readers,

After 1001 Inventions from Muslim Civilization News reached to Islam Haters,Indeed they too started speaking Against.

They are trying hard to show that these developments were done by Jews/Christians…

My Only Question is,If these 1001 Invention claims are fake and Lie then Why Google have given award to such Organization. ?

No body is going to give Awards to organization for fake claims,If they are receiving then for sure they are speaking truth.

Well,at last i just want to say to them….

“Lies shines for few days only, but Truth Shines for ever ”

[quote by me,lol]

They spread enough lies against Islam and Muslims, now Truth will Shine…infact Shining….;)

Praise be to Allah,Lord of the worlds,

Wsalam,

King
slave of Allah

The Mosaic Talent Awards are organised by the Mosaic charity, which was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2007 with the aims of creating opportunities for understanding between different people and groups and to create opportunities for young people of all backgrounds who do not have them. This year is the second time the Talent Awards have been presented following the success of the inaugural event in 2008.

The 2010 Award for Science and Technology is sponsored by Google and was presented to 1001 Inventions by the Chairman of Mosaic, HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan of Jordan, who was joined on stage by Rachel Riley from the Channel 4 programme ‘Countdown’ and Torsten Schuppe of Google UK and Ireland.

Accepting the award Peter Fell, Director of FSTC, commented: “The whole team at 1001 Invention is honoured by this prestigious accolade. For almost 20 years, the people behind the 1001 Inventions initiative have been working tirelessly to promote an accurate understanding of the enormous contribution that Muslim Civilisation has made to the advancement of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The thousand year period known as The Golden Age of Muslim civilisation – starting from the 7th century – which spanned from Spain to China – still has a huge impact on our lives today.”

“During this time, men and women of many different faiths and backgrounds, made great strides in our understanding of the world we all inhabit. The core message of 1001 Inventions is about the shared scientific and technological heritage of humanity. We believe that the most effective way to teach this message is by highlighting role models that inspire young people today to consider careers in science and technology.”

The 1001 Inventions exhibition is currently on a five-year global tour and, following blockbuster runs in London and Istanbul, it will enjoy its North American Premiere at the prestigious New York Hall of Science (NYSci) on the 4th of December 2010.

Reacting to the award, Prof. Salim Al-Hassani, Chairman of 1001 Inventions, said “We would like to thank both Google and Mosaic for recognising the work that we are doing and we would like to thank all those who have supported our efforts over the years for making 1001 Inventions the enormous success that is has become today.”

The 1001 Inventions exhibition’s international tour is globally sponsored by ALJ Community Initiatives (ALJCI which is the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the ALJ Group – a Toyota automobiles distributor operating in 13 different countries. ALJCI plans and operates numerous global programs, such as poverty-alleviation initiatives, artistic and educational projects and technology innovation grants, including a long history of scholarships for students at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
