Assalam mu ailikum brothers in Islam my ? Is very important the way point no: 7, is said does it mean a woman can go out with a another man whose not brother, cousin or relative. If it does then surely woman needs to perform sin ie wear perfume, wear tight clothes to be atracted. Woman’s who has no brothers, point no 7 would ruin their relationship to whom as for family. Brother if that’s not the case please reinstate or transilate in a way when a sister reads should understand going out wiv another man would only break husband and upset brothers, cousin and father…. If that’s really allowed then it’s easy to make som1 else wife my friend wiv my supercar. To ny woman would be opportunities.. Ps pass my comment to other web users. Ps if Iv mistaken the ?, it’s not my fault that’s how I understood the ? Surely many wont understand mahram

Of course a woman can be a scholar!!! EVERY MUSLIM has the right to be a scholar if they are willing to learn and follow the Qur’an and hadith. You shoudn’t even have fought with your wife over it!! Without mentioning that you were wrong, but every person can make mistakes..and you did ask..
Beware preventing someone to learn the way of Islam can become a sin!! Yes you are maintainers of YOUR women(not the whole population of women) in that you guide them in doing what is prescribed by Islam..but if they are willing to be well versed in it by themselves, let them!! It is a most noble act to do. Even the wives of our prophet(may peace be upon him) were learning and guiding people!! Muslims shoud stop thinking that because men only have been prophets OR because of certain ayats in the holy Qur’an on women( which men often tend to deduce as being infavourable to women, hence often using it to dominate their women) implies women are inferior. Allah is most perfect and merciful and has not wronged anyone of us in anyway. Both men and women has their value in Islam..but upon reading the holy Qur’an carefully we will notice that Islam has cater and protected women more Alhamdullillah!!
There is no such verse prohibiting women(remember Islam is just, but people are not, thus they have always tried to restrict women using Islam!! which is a very serious sin!) but there are emphasis on learning in Islam..so let them learn inshaAllah

Assalamu Aleykum Brothers,
Can a woman in Islam be a scholar in Islam or is it only a title given to men? I had an arguement with my wife and told her that Islam doesn’t permit it since the Qur’an clearly says that we are mainters of our women, as practiced by our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Is there a verse in the Holy Qur’an or Hadith that mention something on this matter, whether women can or can’t be Islamic Scholars.
Thank you for replying.

As Salaam u alikum brother!
Women are allowed to become scholars according to Islam. There is no hadeeth that I came across till now which denied this right to women. In fact I have seen a number of ahadeeth that are favorable towards the (religious) education of women. I also have read that women also used to be present (in proper pardah and areas) in mosque while our Prophet (s.a.w) used to teach men about Islam. Women used to ask our Prophet about the matters concerning them.
A reason that will inshaAllah make you understand the point is that women are to be kept in a protected environment (that is what the maintainer in Quran should mean), without any access to non-mahram men. Brother if such are the conditions who would teach women about Islam? There are certain ladies things that can’t be discussed by our women in open with male scholars and there are less chances that their husbands would know about it. Hence there must be scholars among women who would educate them regarding their deen.
I suppose the “maintainer of women” as is mentioned in Quran means that men are to provide the material needs of their women because of the restrictions placed on women by the Quran.
I would suggest you to read Quran with commentary if you wish to understand the meaning of it. Tafseer of ibn Kathir is undisputed and accepted by majority of scholars if not all.
Research on your own and Allah will help you. As Allah says in Quran that he has made this (Quran) easy for you (humans) to learn and understand.

Wa Alikum as Salaam!
Sister, if a boy proposes, makes it known to her parents and is going to marry the girl, it is allowed for him to talk to the girl but in presence of the girl’s mahram.
This is not a fatwa but I read it myself. Rest research yourself more and Allah will reward you.
JazakAllahu khairan!
